Reviewing Audit Information

OpenEMPI audits all requests submitted to the server and stores them in the database for persistence. You may access the audit logs through the Administrative Console. To access the audit logs, from the Admin menu select the Event Viewer option. This will present you with the following screen:

The top portion of the screen allows you to select the type of audit events that you would like to view. You can select one or more options from the drop-down and they will be added to the selection list. Below the audit event type selection drop-down, there are date selection boxes that optionally, allow you to filter the list of audit events that will be found by specifying the start and end date for the events of interest.

In the following example, we selected that we went to review "Add Record" events between March 15 and March 17. After pressing the "Search Event" button, the audit events that match the selection criteria will be presented on the screen.

Most audit events reference one specific record that was affected by the request and in some cases, there might be two records that were affected (update requests, link requests, etc). You can view the attributes of the record that was affected by clicking on the reference record button associated with the event. This will bring up a screen that displays the field values for the referenced record.
