Installation of a Software Release

The installation of a release consists of first installing the prerequisite components such as the database, the application server, and a Java JDK and then installing an instance of the OpenEMPI software. To install an OpenEMPI binary release simply follow the steps in the sequence shown below.

The instructions focus on the installation of a software release on a Linux computer and specifically an Ubuntu distribution although the same general steps should apply to other Linux distributions as well.
